Job Description

• ETL and Data Pipeline Design: Design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Snowflake.
• Data Modeling and Optimization: Develop and optimize data models, tables, and schemas within Snowflake to support efficient data storage and retrieval. Optimize query performance by analyzing query execution plans, identifying bottlenecks, and fine-tuning SQL queries.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to understand data requirements and optimize schema design for performance and scalability. Work with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business users, to understand data requirements and provide necessary support.
• Data Transformation and Quality: Perform data transformations and manipulations using SQL, Snowflake's built-in functions, and data manipulation techniques. Ensure data quality by implementing data validation checks, profiling, and cleansing processes within Snowflake.
• Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize the data warehouse infrastructure within Snowflake, including virtual warehouse provisioning, configuration, and resource allocation. Monitor the health and performance of Snowflake's data infrastructure, set up monitoring tools, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance practices, including metadata management, data lineage, and security controls within Snowflake.
• Documentation: Document data pipelines, transformations, and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation.

Requirements

• Experience: Strong experience working with Snowflake, including data ingestion, modeling, performance optimization, and data transformation.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in SQL and database concepts, with a deep understanding of data warehousing principles.
  • Experience with ETL tools, data integration, and data pipeline development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize queries and troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience with cloud-based data solutions.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and security practices.
• Attributes: Excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
