Job Summary
Salesforce is expanding its India operations and seeking a passionate AI Research Engineer / PMTS/Architect to join its Database Engineering team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on applying cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to optimize and innovate Salesforce’s database systems. If you are experienced in database management systems (DBMS), reinforcement learning, LLMs (Large Language Models), and thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the design, roadmap, and delivery of medium-complexity features independently.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborate with other database architects to develop scalable, productized solutions.
Own design decisions ensuring adherence to Quality, Security, and Engineering best practices.
Participate actively in analysis, design, code reviews, and testing across multiple scrum teams.
Enhance tooling, instrumentation, telemetry, and playbooks to improve operational efficiency.
Develop AI-driven features such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), log summarization, anomaly detection, query optimization, and semantic query understanding.
Resolve customer issues with urgency, maintaining trust and reliability.
Integrate ML models and LLMs with Salesforce’s cloud database infrastructure to enable adaptive, self-healing, and intelligent systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience with open-source DBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or commercial database engines.
Expertise in reinforcement learning, autoML, building knowledge graphs, and working with LLMs.
Experience with observability platforms like Splunk.
Strong background in systems research with publications in top conferences such as SIGMOD, VLDB, NeurIPS, ICDE, OSDI, or similar.
Demonstrated success in delivering innovative, complex software features in major systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working in high-demand, fast-paced Agile development teams.
