Job Summary
Barclays is hiring an Avaloq Tester for its Pune, India office to drive innovation and quality in its core banking technology. This permanent role focuses on testing Avaloq-based solutions within the Private Bank Processing business area. The position is ideal for professionals experienced in software quality assurance, core banking systems, and agile project environments. You will play a key role in delivering high-performance solutions and supporting large-scale digital transformation in private and investment banking.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop test strategies and plans to validate software features and performance.
Create, manage, and execute automated and manual test cases.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and stakeholders to analyze requirements and define acceptance criteria.
Perform root cause analysis on defects and support resolution by working closely with the development team.
Drive testing for complex migration projects within the banking sector.
Manage testing processes using Agile practices and tools like JIRA.
Stay updated with emerging testing methodologies and contribute to process improvement.
Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and promote quality culture across the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Practical experience with the Avaloq Core Banking Product.
Strong knowledge of core banking processes: client onboarding, payments, lending, investments, and client reporting.
Deep understanding of private and investment banking domains.
Hands-on experience across the entire software testing lifecycle including test design, strategy, execution, and reporting.
Strong command of test automation tools and frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ceremonies.
Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis.
Proficiency in JIRA for test and issue tracking.
Demonstrated ability to understand complex banking requirements and deliver effective testing solutions.
Prior experience working on large-scale banking migration projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Awareness of banking regulatory compliance and its impact on software design/testing.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in identifying test coverage gaps.
Experience leading or mentoring QA team members in cross-functional settings.
