Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking an experienced Database Developer with 6 to 13 years of expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Python and Google BigQuery, and must be proficient in Postgres development. This role is available in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Chennai.
Technical Skills
- Database and SQL: Proficient in ANSI SQL and database architecture.
- Domain Skills: Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create robust database solutions to support business applications.
- Optimization: Enhance SQL queries for high performance and efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
- Security Implementation: Enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Performance Tuning: Conduct regular database tuning and troubleshooting.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for database systems and processes.
- Support & Guidance: Provide technical support and mentorship to junior developers.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data integrity and consistency across all database systems.
- Migration & Transformation: Perform data migration and transformation tasks as needed.
- Monitoring: Oversee database systems for optimal performance and availability.
- Backup & Recovery: Develop and implement strategies for backup and recovery.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and participate in code reviews.
Qualifications
- Education: Strong understanding of database architecture and design principles.
- Skills: Proficiency in SQL and ANSI SQL; experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
