Join our dynamic newsroom team as a Data Analyst, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping editorial decisions through data-driven insights. Your mission will be to empower the newsroom with actionable data, enhance performance marketing initiatives, and automate reporting processes to drive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Editorial Team: Work closely with editors and other newsroom members to understand their needs and provide data and research insights to inform editorial decisions.
Data Ownership and Democratization: Take charge of data across the newsroom, ensuring it is accessible and used effectively to support various functions.
Drive Data-Driven Experimentation: Champion data-driven experimentation within the team to enhance product offerings, documenting methodologies and results.
Enhance Marketing Initiatives: Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to leverage data for improving performance marketing strategies and operational efficiency.
Automate Reporting and Analytics: Develop automated solutions for reporting, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities to streamline data processes.
Conduct Analysis and Reporting: Perform a range of tasks from data gathering to analysis, providing clear and actionable reports.
Communicate Insights: Present data findings and insights to stakeholders and leadership through effective presentations, visualizations, and summaries.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years of analytics experience, ideally in a consumer internet or technology environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Google Sheets/Excel is essential. Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Metabase, or Looker is required.
Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
