What This Position Is All About:
As a Senior Data Scientist at Saks OFF 5TH, you will be responsible for developing data science and machine learning solutions that drive business value. You will own and solve complex business problems by applying advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical models to large datasets. Your role will involve collaborating with business stakeholders to demonstrate the impact of data-driven solutions and working on multiple products and initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy state-of-the-art supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms to solve real-world business problems, particularly in the ecommerce and retail domains.
- Own end-to-end data science solutions, from problem identification and solution design to model deployment and validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to ensure the solutions align with business goals and demonstrate measurable impact.
- Stay at the forefront of machine learning research, applying cutting-edge techniques to improve existing models and processes.
- Contribute to the research community through publications, patents, and innovations in data science practices.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Strong experience with machine learning algorithms, both supervised and unsupervised, and a deep understanding of statistical models.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience working in big data environments such as Spark.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like AWS and experience working with large-scale databases.
- Excellent business acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, designing solutions with a product mindset.
- Proven experience in agile development environments and data science sprints.
- Solid foundation in data mining, modeling, validation, and insight generation.
