Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for an experienced ArcGIS / ArcFM Developer with strong proficiency in GIS systems, geospatial application development, and enterprise support.
The ideal candidate must have solid experience in ArcGIS/ArcFM enterprise platforms and customization, with frontend and backend tech stacks including Angular/React, .NET, and Python.
This role involves both new solution development and leading support teams for critical GIS enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design and development efforts on ArcGIS and ArcFM-based enterprise projects.
Customize ArcFM applications as per client needs and business processes.
Upgrade and maintain ArcGIS and ArcFM environments including integration with web-based applications.
Develop ArcGIS Web and ArcFM Web applications using Angular or React.
Design and develop backend APIs using .NET and Python for geospatial data operations.
Integrate Geoserver into enterprise GIS workflows where applicable.
Handle bug fixing, performance tuning, and support in large-scale GIS projects.
Work with SQL Server and Oracle databases for spatial data querying and management.
Lead support teams by enforcing SLAs and ensuring prompt issue resolution and documentation.
Conduct presentations and communicate with stakeholders to explain GIS solutions effectively.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in ArcGIS / ArcFM solution architecture and implementation.
Strong customization knowledge of ArcFM tools and extension development.
Expertise in modern web development frameworks including Angular or React JS.
Solid backend development skills using Microsoft .NET and Python.
Experience with enterprise geospatial systems including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
Strong understanding of Geoserver configuration and integration.
Proven ability in working with spatial databases: SQL Server and Oracle Spatial.
Demonstrated experience in support projects with strong adherence to SLA metrics.
Previous experience as a team lead managing GIS developers and support teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver technical presentations.
Preferred Attributes
Deep domain experience in utilities, energy, or environmental GIS solutions.
Certifications in ESRI or GIS platforms will be considered an advantage.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in GIS environments.
Ability to handle both development and support roles efficiently.
Proven track record in stakeholder engagement and technical leadership.
