About the Role
Be a part of the Global Regional Expansion team that manages Remitly's core remittance platform.
Build and scale solutions to support expansion into new regions, ensuring secure and reliable fund transfers.
Design and implement complex systems tailored to regional needs while ensuring global scalability and compliance.
Lead technical initiatives and improve existing infrastructure for scalability and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Solve technical challenges with a customer-centric mindset.
Design and implement solutions using TypeScript, React Native, Java/Kotlin, Go, and other technologies.
Guide team’s technical strategy and lead development of full-stack features and systems.
Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
Ensure engineering excellence with well-tested, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.
Mentor and support team growth through code reviews, onboarding, and technical guidance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, analysts) to deliver great customer experiences.
Requirements
Strong fundamentals in computer science, web, and native app development.
5+ years of software development experience.
Experience with large-scale database systems like MySQL.
Hands-on knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other orchestration tools.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, CloudWatch, NewRelic).
Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
Interest in regional financial regulations, security, and compliance.
