Job Description
Preferred qualification: CA
Key Competencies:
Strong accounting fundamentals with sound knowledge of Accounting and Reporting Standards (e.g., Ind AS/IFRS)
Ability to interpret, assimilate, and apply standards/concepts in real-life scenarios
Prior hands-on working knowledge (added advantage)
Working knowledge in an ERP environment
High-level knowledge of various laws and compliance requirements governing country operations
Core Responsibilities:
Review and approval of journal entries
Perform monthly/quarterly reporting submissions to corporate as per Global close guidelines
Monthly review of financial position of legal entities including operating cash flows
Liaise with Treasury/Tax on intercompany settlements
Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly and drive resolution of aged open items
Liaise with internal teams and provide timely risk reporting on P&L exposure to management
Ensure critical issues are addressed on priority and initiate appropriate remedial action
Streamline go-forward processes
Ensure timely and qualitative audit completion (Statutory, tax, USGAAP group, internal, and SOX audits)
Prepare financial statements and notes to accounts including variance analysis and detailed explanations
Prepare Board pack covering financial highlights
Maintain clear trail of all statutory adjustment entries and schedules
Prepare reconciliation between US GAAP and local GAAP and initiate steps to bridge balances as needed
Maintain country exceptions document by reviewing current processes vs. local regulatory changes
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills to ensure stakeholder queries/requests are addressed promptly and avoid escalations
Actively participate in country-level, regional, and global projects as assigned

Maintain the general ledger including:
Preparation of journal entries
Analysis and reconciliation
Reporting
Maintain and implement general accounting systems
Conduct periodic account reconciliations and ledger close activities
Provide accurate financial data to support management decision-making
Develop and prepare financial reports including:
Profit and loss statements
Income statements
Balance sheet statements
Review and analyze inter-company transactions
Ensure all journal entries comply with internal and external audit specifications
Participate in ongoing development and maintenance of internal procedures and processes
Participate in special projects as required
