Role Overview
As an Assistant I - Lab Support, you will work on assembling, configuring, and supporting hardware and systems in a lab environment, ensuring all validation activities run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, configure, and support desktops, servers, and test systems in lab environments.
Install and update operating systems like Windows, Linux, and VMware, along with device drivers.
Perform BIOS, BMC, CPLD, and firmware flashing for system validation and bring-up.
Troubleshoot platform issues involving memory, CPU, storage, and networking.
Set up test environments including rack installation, cabling, and power management.
Collect system logs and perform functional/stress tests to assist engineers in validation.
Maintain lab cleanliness, safety, and proper organization.
Follow standard ESD safety procedures and lab protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation for system setups, issues, and resolutions.
Collaborate with other teams to support deployment schedules and platform readiness.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience in system integration, hardware support, or lab operations.
Strong knowledge of hardware components like CPU, RAM, storage, and power systems.
Familiarity with BIOS flashing, OS installs, and basic driver issues.
Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools (multimeters, POST cards, USB debug tools).
Understanding of network connectivity like DHCP and Static IP.
Good communication skills and ability to follow technical directions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with server platforms, lab equipment, and validation procedures.
Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.
Familiarity with inventory systems and ticketing tools.
Prior experience in hardware validation environments.
