Role Proficiency:
Execute test cases accurately and prevent incorrect product shipments by reporting business-critical bugs. This role operates under supervision.
Key Responsibilities (Outcomes):
Complete the assigned test grid precisely, following the given test steps.
Identify product failures and report them in the test repository and bug tracker.
Detect ‘out-of-the-box’ product issues during testing.
Learn and understand the technology, business domain, and system domain—both independently and as guided by the project/account.
Execute ad-hoc test scenarios when required.
Report P1 (Priority 1) or showstopper issues accurately.
Performance Metrics:
Number of ad-hoc scenarios executed.
Accuracy and completeness of test repository and bug database updates.
Number of P1/Showstopper issues reported.
Adherence to defined timelines and delivery schedules.
Compliance with SLAs where applicable.
Number of defects identified post-delivery.
Number of non-compliance or process violations.
Reduction in recurrence of previously known defects (per SLA).
Turnaround time for resolving production bugs.
Completion of all mandatory training as per the project/account requirement.
Expected Outputs:
Manage Project: Complete deliverables with quality, meeting target timeframes.
Estimate: Accurately estimate the time, effort, and resources needed for assigned tasks.
Document: Create clear and complete documentation of one’s own work.
Status Reporting: Provide timely updates on task status and ensure compliance with validation standards and processes.
Required Skills:
Basic understanding of computer hardware and its components.
Ability to execute and validate ad-hoc test scenarios.
Experience with Windows OS installation and working with different versions.
Familiarity with BIOS drivers and various display protocols.
Ability to test against product specifications and evaluate outcomes.
Ability to estimate time and effort for personal tasks.
Capability to conduct and assess tests in both customer and target environments.
Good teamwork and collaboration abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge Requirements:
Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Knowledge of various testing methodologies including functional, manual, and validation testing.
