Role Overview:
As an Associate II – VLSI, you will execute internal or customer tasks related to VLSI Frontend, Backend, or Analog Design, especially automation development, with minimal supervision. You are expected to deliver timely, high-quality, and well-documented results.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on RTL Design, Verification, PD, DFT, STA, Circuit Design, Analog Layout, Synthesis, or Signoff tasks as an individual contributor.
Analyze and complete assigned VLSI-related tasks within deadlines, with minimal support.
Deliver clean, quality modules that integrate easily at the top level.
Ensure 100% compliance with functional specifications and design guidelines.
Document all tasks and work performed in an organized manner.
Meet project timelines provided by the team lead or program manager.
Support other team members' intermediate deliveries when needed.
Contribute in case of team member unavailability.
Proactively plan and automate repeated tasks to reduce cycle time.
Participate in technical discussions, knowledge-sharing forums, and training sessions.
Skill Requirements:
Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages: System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL, UVM, C, C++, Assembly, Perl, TCL/TK, Makefile, or Spice.
Familiarity with EDA tools: Cadence, Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics tools like Simulators, Lint, CDC, RDC, DC, ICC, Innovus, Olympus, PT, Tempus, Calibre.
Technical knowledge in areas such as
Understanding of semiconductor technology: CMOS, FinFET, FDSOI at 28nm, 22nm, 16FF, 10nm or below.
Strong coding skills in Python, TCL, and Perl – especially for automation and file handling.
Ability to build modular, reusable code and think from top-to-bottom design perspective.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Openness to learning new technical skills if not already mastered.
Good to have: Knowledge of AI/ML for VLSI applications.
Additional Responsibilities:
Develop automation solutions for IP and Sign-Off teams.
Understand cross-functional team requirements and deliver quality tools.
Communicate status updates via email or JIRA regularly and send weekly reports.
Educational Qualifications:
B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science or Electronics with VLSI specialization (required).
M.Tech/M.E. (preferred).
