We are looking for an experienced and dynamic AWS Data Engineer with Redshift expertise. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AWS data services, data pipeline design, SQL, and Python, with a strong focus on team leadership and client engagement. The role involves managing scheduled jobs, tracking SLAs, resolving failures, and collaborating across AWS, SRE, and data platform teams.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue, Redshift, and related AWS services.
Manage job schedules and SLAs within the AWS environment, ensuring smooth execution and reliability.
Troubleshoot job failures and system issues, identifying root causes and implementing durable fixes.
Track and report on SLA compliance for all automated data processes and take proactive actions to prevent violations.
Collaborate with SRE teams, AWS architects, and D3C development groups to align infrastructure and data flow architecture.
Demonstrate hands-on expertise in Python programming for data transformation and job orchestration.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis, transformation, and loading into Redshift.
Provide regular status updates to clients, manage expectations, and maintain high satisfaction through proactive communication.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical direction within the team.
Maintain strong documentation practices for job definitions, workflows, and SLA dashboards.
Follow best practices in cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization within AWS.
Stay updated with new AWS services and data engineering innovations to continuously improve the platform.
Proven experience in AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and Lambda.
Strong skills in SQL, Python, and data warehouse concepts.
Experience in managing data pipelines, troubleshooting job failures, and meeting SLA requirements.
Ability to work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams including SRE and development units.
Strong communication and team management skills.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes and DevOps in a data environment is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
AWS certification is an advantage.
