Job Summary:
Cognizant is seeking experienced DevOps / SRE professionals with solid expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and automation tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and scripting with Python and Shell. This is a hands-on engineering role with a focus on scalable deployments, system reliability, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and CloudFormation on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Go for infrastructure and application management.
Use Ansible for configuration management and automated deployment pipelines.
Manage and enhance CI/CD workflows using Jenkins, Groovy, Git, and other DevOps tools.
Handle web server configurations and load balancers (Apache, Tomcat, NGINX).
Set up, monitor, and maintain production-grade environments ensuring 24x7 availability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, application crashes, network issues, and monitoring alerts.
Must-Have Skills:
Advanced hands-on knowledge in AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.)
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and container orchestration best practices.
Expertise in Linux systems administration and shell scripting.
Familiarity with Jenkins pipeline creation using Groovy DSL.
Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC.
Strong grasp on monitoring, alerting, and incident response in a production setup (SRE mindset).
Ability to debug issues across the entire stack – network, OS, applications, etc.
Experience with load balancing, DNS, firewalls, and related networking.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Experience with GitOps or advanced CI/CD strategies.
Familiarity with tools like SonarQube, Bamboo, or Maven.
Exposure to cloud-native security practices.
Previous experience in leading incident response and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture and high availability strategies.
