Job Description: Spec Analytics Analyst

The Spec Analytics Analyst is an entry-level professional role that applies expertise in monitoring, assessing, and analyzing data and processes. This role involves identifying policy gaps, formulating policies, interpreting data, and making recommendations to improve business outcomes. The analyst conducts research, interprets factual information, identifies inconsistencies in data, and defines business issues, offering recommendations on policies, procedures, or practices. They integrate knowledge from their specialty area with a basic understanding of industry practices and collaborate with team members to achieve objectives. The role has a limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of tasks and services provided, with the scope of influence restricted to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Work with large and complex data sets (internal and external) to evaluate, recommend, and support business strategies.
• Identify and compile data sets using tools such as SQL and Access to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business outcomes.
• Document data requirements, data collection, processing, and cleaning, along with conducting exploratory data analysis.
• Utilize statistical models, algorithms, and data visualization techniques where necessary.
• Serve in roles that may often be referred to as Data Scientists.
• Specialize in areas such as marketing, risk, digital, and AML (Anti-Money Laundering).
• Assess risk during business decisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Safeguard Citigroup’s reputation by applying sound ethical judgment, adhering to policy, and escalating control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to retrieve and manipulate data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a quantitative field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptive to a matrix work environment.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
