Role: Cloud Applications Architect
Key Responsibilities:
Design and manage cloud-hosted applications on Azure and AWS with a focus on performance, scalability, and resilience.
Lead modernization and consolidation of automation platforms.
Develop integration services such as authentication and file sharing between client platforms and Insurity Cloud.
Guide product teams in cloud-compliant application design and deployment.
Define and enforce technology life cycles aligned with Insurity Cloud standards.
Mentor geographically distributed teams, collaborating with North American architects.
Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and application issues using tools like Dynatrace and SolarWinds.
Configure and manage Apache Tomcat on Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Amazon Linux).
Automate processes using Groovy and JavaScript, and enhance application functionality.
Collaborate with Product, Cloud Ops, and Security teams to optimize performance and host new products.
Follow Agile practices, use Jira for work tracking, and participate in on-call rotations.
Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and cloud architecture best practices.
Requirements / Who We're Looking For:
12+ years of experience managing enterprise-grade, high-availability (24x7) production environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
Expertise in Java (core & advanced) for backend development and debugging.
Experience with Groovy and JavaScript scripting.
Proficient in Linux server administration (RHEL 9.3/9.4, CentOS 7, Amazon Linux 2/2023).
Hands-on with Apache Tomcat on Linux.
Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and private cloud environments.
Strong SQL skills with MS SQL or MySQL including performance tuning.
Knowledge of PGP/GPG encryption and secure networking fundamentals.
Experience using Dynatrace, SolarWinds for monitoring and diagnostics.
Strong Agile background and Jira experience.
A customer-first approach ensuring service responsiveness and reliability.
Ability to mentor and collaborate across international teams.
Willing to travel up to 25% if needed.
