Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a skilled Developer for a role requiring 6 to 13 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python and AWS (Glue/Lambda), with a strong background in data engineering. This position is available in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, or Chennai.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Apache Spark, Amazon S3, AWS Glue Catalog, AWS Glue ETL, and AWS Glue Studio.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable ETL processes using AWS Glue Studio to meet business requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of data pipelines and workflows in AWS Glue ETL for efficient data processing.
- Manage and optimize the AWS Glue Catalog for effective metadata management and data discovery.
- Utilize Amazon S3 for secure data storage and retrieval.
- Implement and optimize data processing tasks with Apache Spark to handle large datasets.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs to ensure data quality and integrity.
- Maintain strong proficiency in SQL.
- Develop and maintain documentation for ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and AWS technologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and processes.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in AWS Glue Studio, AWS Glue ETL, and AWS Glue Catalog.
- Extensive experience with Amazon S3 for data storage and retrieval.
- Proficient in Apache Spark for data processing and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with data governance and security practices.
- Proactive attitude towards learning and adopting new technologies.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
