Purpose of the role
The Data Insights & Visualization group within the Digital & Technology (D&T) department plays a crucial role in developing, executing, and publishing reports and dashboards that aid decision-making across various Functions and Operating Units. This group ensures data is effectively utilized, providing clear visualizations that empower stakeholders with actionable insights.
Their primary responsibility is creating and publishing dashboards and reports that highlight critical business insights. These tools support the leadership team by addressing key strategic issues and managing projects and programs, offering up-to-date information in an easily digestible format crucial for strategic planning and operational efficiency.
The group collaborates closely with business units, technical consultants, and project teams to accurately represent business issues and project scopes in data visualizations. This involves detailed discussions to define key assumptions and considerations. They ensure that visualizations are tailored to meet specific business needs, enhancing their relevance and accuracy.
The development process begins with data massaging and cleansing, ensuring the raw data is accurate and ready for analysis. Data massaging transforms and maps the data into a suitable format, while data cleansing corrects any inaccuracies or inconsistencies. This preparation is essential for creating reliable and relevant visualizations.
Using advanced data visualization techniques, the group then transforms the cleaned data into intuitive and user-friendly reports and dashboards. Visual aids such as charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards help stakeholders quickly interpret complex information, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions efficiently.
By providing powerful visual tools, the Data Insights & Visualization group supports both daily operational decisions and long-term strategic planning. Their work enables leadership to navigate business complexities, anticipate challenges, and seize opportunities, making the group indispensable for driving strategic business initiatives.
