About the Team & Business Line:
Working in an international environment, for banks across the globe, you will have an immediate impact on the business. The Data Scientist is a member of the Data Governance department, which is responsible for business intelligence, data governance, data quality initiatives, and data management. The department is global and cross-functional, with team members located in three different locations worldwide. The Data Governance department addresses all business and regulatory requirements around data governance and data quality.
Responsibilities
Your Role:
- Articulate data requirements from the bank’s business functions to the technical development team.
- Design and build dashboards using the business intelligence tool (QLIK).
- Execute regular reporting runs for various business functions and senior managers.
- Perform data analytics tasks as requested by Data Quality and Data Science managers.
- Develop management reports concerning data management and data quality.
- Perform reviews of regulatory-required data.
- Serve as a contact for data stewards and data owners on specific questions related to data.
- Help develop optimal processes around data.
- Support the Data Governance team in all its activities.
- Participate in the preparation and execution of topic-specific trainings for the banks.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with relevant internal and external parties.
- Take an active role in specific business projects.
Qualifications
About You:
- Must have an academic background and working level.
- Ability to problem-solve data requirements, working through requests in a clear and methodical way.
- Proven analytical skills, to assist the business in reviewing and presenting data in a clear and professional manner.
- Experience in QLIK or equivalent BI tools.
- Knowledge of complex data structures, data models, and database languages (SQL).
- Ability to communicate to various levels of the business in a clear and effective manner.
- Master’s degree in data analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics.
- Preferred experience in the financial services industry, consultancy, or an aligned function.
- Strong quantitative skills.
- Understanding of IT solutions to optimize manual processes.
- Research and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of relevant data quality and data governance regulations.
- Strong communicative and interpersonal skills (in English).
- Ability to work independently and to liaise with other departments.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, mainly Excel.
