Why We're Hiring

We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our data and insights team in developing WPP’s spend analysis data structure, business intelligence tools, and visualizations for WPP HQ and the broader WPP network. This role offers the opportunity to work with stakeholders across multiple departments to enhance our team's analysis and reporting capabilities using our spend analysis tool.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly data feeds for spend/accounts payable, including data collection, follow-ups, cleansing, ETL operations, and quality checks.
  • Transition existing quarterly data feeds to a monthly cadence.
  • Maintain data governance, including company code and operating company hierarchy masters.
  • Assist in continuous improvement efforts, including tweaks and modifications to data templates and process optimization.
  • Design and build data workflows and pipelines.
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in large datasets.
  • Analyze data based on stakeholder requirements and produce outgoing reports.
  • Generate and track key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the spend analysis tool’s reporting capabilities.
  • Assist with system administration and issue resolution.
  • Document end-to-end reporting processes.
  • Train and support end users on the WPP spend analysis tool.
  • Communicate with various business levels internally.
  • Participate in additional spend reporting projects.
  • Assist in opportunity analysis through further data investigation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in spend data management, including supplier category understanding, AI/ML output utilization, rule building, data repository maintenance, supplier grouping, and taxonomy building.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis; Python is a plus.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Alteryx or Databricks is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of data visualization and KPI generation.
  • Competence in MS Office; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of company executives.
  • Team player with the ability to manage workload and be self-motivated.
  • Enthusiasm for growth and a hands-on approach.
