Why We’re Hiring:

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our data and insights team. This role focuses on developing WPP’s spend analysis data structure, business intelligence tools, and visualizations for WPP HQ and the broader network. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to enhance our team’s analysis and reporting capabilities via our spend analysis tool.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Interpret stakeholder reporting requirements and analyze data to provide comprehensive reports.
  • Identify and analyze trends and patterns in large datasets.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Utilize Azure native services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Databricks, to optimize data workflows.
  • Clean and validate data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to rectify any issues.
  • Produce and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Contribute to enhancing the reporting capabilities of the spend analysis tool.
  • Assist with system administration and issue resolution.
  • Document the end-to-end reporting process.
  • Train and support end-users in using the WPP spend analysis tool.
  • Facilitate communication across different business levels internally.
  • Engage in additional spend reporting projects as needed.
  • Conduct opportunity analyses through further data investigation.

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of spend data management, including supplier categories, AI/ML applications, rule building, and taxonomy development.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation; knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Alteryx or Databricks is advantageous.
  • Solid foundations in data visualization and KPI generation.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems.
  • Interest or experience in technology.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with executives at all levels.
  • A collaborative mindset and self-motivation to manage workload effectively.
