Join the Salesforce Database (SDB) team, which delivers highly available and durable distributed storage for Salesforce applications hosted on public cloud infrastructure. This is a fast-paced, metrics-driven, and collaborative environment that focuses on building transactional systems, distributed systems, and solutions for enterprise-scale availability and reliability.
Design and develop scalable, resilient, and fault-tolerant transactional and distributed systems focused on data storage.
Take ownership of requirements gathering, system architecture, and hands-on implementation.
Ensure high availability and performance of distributed data storage systems supporting Salesforce’s product stack.
Write clean, high-quality, and testable code including unit tests and functional validations.
Review and test code written by teammates to ensure quality and consistency.
Drive improvements in operational excellence using telemetry and metrics.
Contribute to continuous Agile development cycles with a focus on iterative delivery.
Mentor junior team members while remaining open to learning from peers.
Work with Kubernetes and public cloud APIs for data handling and system deployment.
Address challenges related to clustering, system resources, and distributed programming.
15+ years of professional experience (or 12+ years with M.Tech in a relevant field).
Proven experience in designing and building enterprise-grade distributed systems.
Strong skills in Java or C programming in a Unix/Linux environment.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming techniques and design patterns.
Experience with relational databases is a significant advantage.
Proficient in using telemetry, metrics, and monitoring tools to improve system performance.
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, system-level programming, and cloud-native deployment.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and public cloud APIs.
Strong communicator and collaborator; able to work in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and incremental delivery practices.
Highly detailed, inventive, and task-driven with the ability to meet deadlines.
Building highly available, scalable, and durable storage systems.
Solving challenges involving clustering, data integrity, and system performance.
Deploying and scaling services across public cloud environments.
