Job Description:
As a DBT Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining efficient data transformation processes using DBT (Data Build Tool). You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that data pipelines and models are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to address the data needs of various teams within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- DBT Development: Design, develop, and maintain DBT models, transformations, and SQL code for efficient data pipelines.
- Data Modeling: Implement best practices in data modeling, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data transformations using DBT.
- Data Governance: Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency by establishing data governance practices.
- Collaboration: Work with data engineers, analysts, and other teams to understand and meet business unit data requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimizing DBT models for faster query performance.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for DBT models, transformations, and data dictionaries to ensure transparency.
- Security: Implement data security measures to safeguard sensitive information and comply with privacy regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on DBT best practices and innovations to enhance data transformation processes.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on DBT usage.
- POC: Plan and execute Proofs of Concept (POCs) relevant to DBT.
