Job Summary
As part of a dynamic and fast-growing engineering team aligned with the Architecture team, the GeoSpatial Engineer (Sr. Architect Engineer) will take technical ownership of the Merit platform. You will work collaboratively across business units to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance applications that support both internal needs and client-facing deliverables.


Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate closely with the Lead Architect to ensure alignment between technical strategy and implementation.

  2. Participate in product feature reviews and walkthrough sessions as requested by engineering management.

  3. Contribute to high-level estimation sessions to provide t-shirt sizing for requested features.

  4. Validate incoming requests with architecture and engineering leads to ensure they meet required standards before estimation.

  5. Mentor and lead software engineers and junior architects by providing technical guidance and enforcing best practices.

  6. Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and robust applications using .NET Core.

  7. Implement and fine-tune SQL Server and Oracle databases to ensure high-performance data management.

  8. Guide the development of responsive and efficient front-end solutions, preferably using React.

  9. Architect, design, and implement enterprise-level software solutions in line with industry best practices.

  10. Ensure all development complies with security protocols, regulatory standards, and internal coding guidelines.

  11. Promote high standards for code quality, coverage, and unit testing across the engineering team.

  12. Actively participate in Agile development practices including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

  13. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software issues to optimize system performance and reliability.

  14. Lead adoption of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies to streamline software delivery.

  15. Define software engineering strategies that improve team efficiency, performance, and code quality.

  16. Enforce best development practices such as automated testing, continuous integration, and code reviews.

  17. Monitor project timelines, track deliverables, mitigate risks, and ensure consistent high-quality output.

  18. Foster innovation and continuous process improvement within the development and architecture teams.

  19. Evaluate emerging tools, platforms, and technologies, and recommend them for integration where appropriate.
