Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking an experienced GeoSpatial Senior Java Developer with 7 to 9 years of professional experience. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model and play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining geospatial applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop geospatial applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Implement and maintain Spring Boot-based microservices architecture.
Deploy and manage applications using AWS cloud services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, build, and launch new application features.
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure software quality.
Troubleshoot application issues and provide prompt technical solutions.
Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering growth and skill development.
Participate in Agile/Scrum activities including sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
Document architecture, technical specifications, and deployment processes.
Ensure compliance with data protection and cybersecurity standards.
Continuously evaluate and improve application performance and scalability.
Stay updated with latest technologies, frameworks, and geospatial development trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot.
Proficient in building microservices with Spring Boot.
Proven experience in using AWS services for cloud-based deployment.
Deep understanding of core Java concepts including OOP, multithreading, collections, and exception handling.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on code quality and clean architecture.
Willingness to learn and adopt emerging technologies.
Nice to Have
Experience with .NET technologies.
