Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a talented and experienced GeoSpatial Senior Java Developer to join our fast-paced and innovative team. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 9 years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and microservices. This role offers the opportunity to work on geospatial application development, contributing to scalable and intelligent digital solutions in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain geospatial applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build scalable applications with Spring Boot Microservices architecture.
Utilize AWS cloud services for application deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
Collaborate across teams (DevOps, QA, Product) to deliver new features and enhancements.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews to ensure high standards.
Diagnose and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs.
Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
Create and maintain system architecture documents and technical specifications.
Ensure security and compliance with data protection protocols.
Contribute ideas for continuous process improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Proficiency in AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch).
Expertise in developing REST APIs and microservices.
Solid understanding of core Java concepts like multithreading, collections, exception handling.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Nice to Have
Experience with .NET technologies.
Background in geospatial application development (e.g., GIS, Map APIs).
Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines).
Certifications (Required)
