Job Summary
Cognizant is hiring experienced Java Developers with cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, or GCP). The role involves developing REST/SOAP APIs and microservices, working with application servers, databases, messaging systems, and CI/CD pipelines in a modern cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain REST and SOAP-based web services and microservices using Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
Work with Java Application Servers such as Tomcat, TOMEE, Jetty, JBOSS, or WebSphere (WAS).
Develop and optimize solutions involving relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, Informix.
Implement messaging solutions using Kafka, WMQ, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ.
Write unit and integration tests using JUnit, TestNG, and Selenium.
Use and handle data with REST/SOAP APIs, XML, and JSON.
Apply data structures and algorithms for building efficient and scalable code.
Participate in CI/CD processes using modern DevOps tools and practices.
Work on cloud deployment and maintenance with at least 1 year of hands-on experience in AWS or Azure (GCP experience is also acceptable).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Architecture to ensure quality delivery.
Required Skills
Strong programming experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
Practical experience in cloud platforms – minimum one year in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proficiency in web services development, both REST and SOAP.
Good understanding of application servers, databases, messaging systems, and testing frameworks.
Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and DevOps tools.
Strong logical and analytical thinking with attention to performance and scalability.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
