As a Lab Engineer at UST, you will play a pivotal role in early-stage data center and system bring-up initiatives. You will drive requirement analysis, infrastructure setup, technical support, and team leadership to ensure smooth lab and hardware integration in global data center environments.
Perform early requirement analysis, capacity planning, and infrastructure readiness assessments for new data center projects.
Provide hands-on technical support including system assembly, BIOS/firmware flashing, OS provisioning, and stability validation.
Collaborate with platform validation, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure timely platform readiness.
Document system requirements, configuration templates, hardware status reports, and rack setup plans.
Coordinate setup of testbeds, debug tools, and power/network layouts for optimal infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and replicate hardware issues in coordination with stakeholders.
Ensure seamless handover of testbeds and infrastructure to validation and delivery teams post-setup.
Lead and mentor a team of data center technicians through performance management and training.
Utilize monitoring tools to track system health, diagnose issues, and proactively resolve system-level problems.
Minimum 8 years of experience in platform validation, system bring-up, or data center engineering.
Expertise in x86 system bring-up including BIOS, BMC, firmware flashing, and driver installations.
Strong knowledge of data center components including racks, cooling systems, power distribution, and cabling.
Familiarity with debugging tools such as ITP, Dediprog, serial debuggers, and power control systems.
Hands-on experience in Linux and/or Windows OS provisioning and automation.
Proven leadership and mentoring ability within data center or technical teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to solve complex technical issues independently.
