Position Overview
We invite applications for the role of Lead Consultant, Tableau Developer. In this position, you will harness Tableau’s suite of data visualization tools to convert raw data into insightful visualizations and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights for effective visualization.
- Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau Desktop, ensuring they are intuitive and visually engaging.
- Data Representation: Utilize Tableau’s extensive visualization options to present data in formats such as bar charts, line graphs, heat maps, and scatter plots.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity through data cleaning and transformation.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize Tableau workbooks and dashboards for quick load times and efficient resource use.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with data analysts, business users, and IT teams to gather requirements and iterate on visualizations based on feedback.
- Documentation: Maintain documentation for data sources, models, and dashboard designs to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- User Training: Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau best practices and troubleshooting.
- Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest Tableau features, updates, and data visualization trends.
- Compliance Adherence: Follow data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Testing: Conduct thorough testing of dashboards for accuracy, functionality, and usability.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and enhance Tableau solutions for better usability and business impact.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications are a plus).
- Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of database concepts and proficiency in SQL for data manipulation.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Familiarity with data visualization principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop for dashboard development and report creation.
- Experience with Tableau Server for publishing dashboards.
- Background in data integration, modeling, and ETL processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server certifications preferred.
- Experience with other data visualization tools like Power BI, QlikView, or D3.js.
- Background in data analysis, data mining, or business intelligence.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with advanced Tableau features, including calculated fields and LOD expressions.
- Experience in performance tuning of Tableau workbooks.
