Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Lead SQL Server Database Administrator to join our growing team in Bangalore. Key Responsibilities
Ensure high availability and reliability of the SQL Server infrastructure across all environments.
Participate in global follow-the-sun support operations.
Build and configure new database infrastructures with industry best practices.
Apply patches and updates to maintain security and compliance.
Respond to incident calls within defined SLA timeframes.
Enforce data backup, restore, and disaster recovery policies.
Document legacy processes to enhance efficiency and clarity.
Mentor and coach junior DBAs, helping improve their technical expertise.
Perform routine performance monitoring, apply hotfixes, and escalate deeper issues to the tuning team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance underlying database architecture.
Required Technical Skills
Strong expertise with SQL Server 2017 or later (Always On, Log Shipping, Transactional Replication, Query Store).
Proficient in PowerShell scripting and use of DBAtools for automation.
Experience with on-premises infrastructure and basic Windows administration.
Understanding of storage systems and their role in database performance.
Familiarity with AWS database services is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 7+ years of experience managing SQL Server environments (both virtual and physical).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven ability to automate database operations using scripting tools like PowerShell.
Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or similar) are a strong plus.
Background in software development is preferred to ensure smooth collaboration with dev teams.
Previous experience in manufacturing industry environments is a bonus.
