The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to:
Join a dynamic, multicultural team as part of our follow-the-sun support model.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of our SQL Server infrastructure.
Work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to maintaining and evolving database systems.
What You’ll Do
Maintain high availability and reliability of the SQL Server infrastructure.
Participate in the follow-the-sun support model for continuous coverage.
Build and implement new database infrastructure as per requirements.
Apply updates and patches to keep the environment secure and compliant.
Attend incident calls and ensure resolution within SLA timelines.
Enforce and uphold security and compliance policies.
Ensure backup and recovery policies are strictly adhered to.
Document legacy processes to improve clarity and operational efficiency.
Coach and mentor junior DBAs to enhance their technical capabilities.
Monitor database performance, apply quick fixes, and escalate complex cases to the performance tuning team.
Collaborate with other teams to optimize underlying database infrastructure.
Scope
Primarily focus on on-premises SQL Server infrastructure.
Preference for candidates with experience in AWS environments as well.
Tools and Technologies
SQL Server 2017+ (including Always On, Transactional Replication, Query Store, Log Shipping).
PowerShell, DBAtools.
Basic Windows administration.
Understanding of storage infrastructure.
What You’ll Bring
Experience
7+ years of experience in highly available SQL Server environments (virtual and physical infrastructure).
Proven experience in automating repetitive tasks using PowerShell or similar scripting tools.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Certifications
Microsoft certifications (preferred, not mandatory).
Soft Skills
Self-learner with a high level of initiative.
Strong problem-solving ability with skills to simplify complex concepts.
Exceptional adaptability in fast-paced environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially for multicultural teamwork.
Preferred Knowledge
Experience in manufacturing industries (bonus).
Development background for better collaboration with developers.
