UST is seeking a Data Visualization Lead with strong expertise in front-end development and visualization tools. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with React.js, Deck.gl, and large-scale or geospatial data. This is a leadership role for candidates who can drive technical execution and guide junior developers.
Lead the development of advanced front-end data visualization solutions using Deck.gl, React.js, and JavaScript.
Integrate Carto layers and geospatial data (GeoJSON, TopoJSON, tilesets) into dynamic, interactive visualizations.
Work with large-scale datasets, optimizing for rendering performance using WebGL, Canvas, and related tools.
Write efficient and clean code using ES6+, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks.
Develop and consume RESTful APIs for data integration and dynamic content rendering.
Collaborate closely with design, back-end, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality products.
Provide leadership to small teams through mentorship, code reviews, and project oversight.
Ensure responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-device compatibility of visualizations.
Drive Agile development practices, CI/CD integration, and ensure timely delivery of features.
Communicate progress, challenges, and ideas effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Minimum 8 years of front-end development experience, with at least 2 years in data visualization.
Expertise in React.js and Deck.gl (Layers, Views, Carto).
Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS.
Experience with WebGL, Canvas rendering, and performance tuning for large datasets.
Hands-on with data manipulation libraries such as D3.js, Lodash, and others.
Working knowledge of SQL, JSON, APIs, and CI/CD tools.
Proficiency in Java for backend interactions is preferred.
Familiarity with design systems and tools like Figma or Storybook.
Experience or background in GIS (Geographic Information Systems).
Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux, Zustand).
Proficiency with modern build tools like Vite or Webpack.
Exposure to performance profiling and frontend optimization tools.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and sprint-based delivery.
