Role Overview
Mastercard's Cross-Border Services Development Team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Software Engineer to lead technical teams in building and delivering innovative financial products. The role includes driving technical direction, solution design, agile delivery, and mentoring across multiple scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor software development teams, ensuring timely and high-quality product delivery.
Guide cross-functional projects with long-term strategic impact.
Collaborate with architecture and product teams for requirement alignment and execution.
Define, develop, and deliver software solutions, including design documents and PoCs.
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
Evaluate and integrate current and emerging technologies and frameworks.
Participate in vendor evaluation and technology stack decisions through PoCs.
Maintain efficient staffing levels and ensure skill alignment across teams.
Communicate project performance results and manage within defined budgets.
Advocate for agile methodologies and continuous improvement within the development lifecycle.
Required Experience
8+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering and leadership.
Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, and Microservices.
Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and UNIX systems.
Working knowledge of cloud-native technologies (PCF, AWS, etc.).
Strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC practices.
Proven ability to mentor junior developers and perform high-quality code reviews.
Capable of strategic decision-making and business case development.
Strong communication, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
