Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced RWE Scientific Data Analyst II to join our team in Hyderabad. This role will involve programming, validating, and conducting statistical analyses of large observational datasets as part of Novartis' Real World Evidence (RWE) strategies. You will independently manage and analyze health outcomes data, develop RWE dashboards, and leverage statistical and machine learning methods to draw meaningful insights and drive strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Programming & Analysis: Develop, modify, and debug programming routines (SAS, R) and sophisticated SQL queries to extract, clean, manage, and analyze large databases used in health outcomes research.
  • Study Design Translation: Independently translate study designs into algorithms to extract, analyze, and report data for Non-Interventional Studies (NIS) or interactive data visualization tools.
  • Collaboration: Work with RWE Research Analysts to scope, design, and execute projects under senior guidance.
  • Data Visualization: Develop and maintain interactive RWE dashboards using tools like R/Shiny, ggplot, plotly, or similar.
  • Machine Learning: Apply machine learning techniques, such as random forest, GBM, logistic regression, SVM, and deep learning, for data analysis.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all documentation aligns with company standards, including analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional programming experience in SAS or R, with a focus on data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong experience with SQL (e.g., Hive, Impala, MySQL, OracleSQL).
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis (regression, ANOVA, t-tests) and data visualization techniques.
    • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and dimensionality reduction methods.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Advanced Data Visualization: Experience using R Shiny, Rmarkdown, ggplot, plotly, data.table, and dplyr.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with tools like git or JIRA for version control.
