Dell Technologies is seeking a Principal Software Engineer – IT to join its elite engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native and legacy applications using modern DevOps practices. You will work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with global engineering teams to enhance Dell’s IT infrastructure and platform solutions.
Create automation scripts and enable CI/CD pipelines for deploying cloud features and services.
Deploy and manage open-source software solutions and interact with APIs for operational tasks.
Collaborate with platform engineers to build and maintain Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments, especially Cloud Foundry.
Manage Docker container orchestration on public or hybrid cloud platforms.
Monitor and operate both cloud-native and legacy applications independently.
Perform day-to-day operational tasks and address critical issues and ad hoc requests.
8 to 12+ years of professional experience with a B.E./B.Tech degree.
Strong background in Linux, networking, and storage infrastructure.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes administration, RBAC, Pod Security, Helm, Istio, and NGINX Ingress Controller.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell, Python, or Ansible (expertise in at least one language).
Expertise in high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and infrastructure services like DNS, load balancers, firewalls, TLS certificates, and Git versioning systems.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
Exposure to Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) environments is an added advantage.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a keen focus on performance optimization and secure deployment.
