Job Summary:
Cognizant is looking for a highly experienced Python Architect with deep understanding of object-oriented programming, SQL query optimization, and scalable web development. This role is best suited for someone with extensive backend and architectural experience who is eager to design, build, and optimize cutting-edge digital solutions in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and build scalable backend systems using Python and object-oriented principles.
Design and develop robust RESTful APIs using Flask or Django frameworks.
Write, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries for relational database systems.
Develop data pipelines and analytics features using Pandas and other data manipulation libraries.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Implement version control workflows using Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
Contribute to system design decisions and maintain code quality through CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot production issues and lead debugging sessions.
Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Mentor junior developers and share knowledge of architectural best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10–19 years of hands-on experience in Python development and software architecture.
Strong command over Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs) principles.
Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and working with relational databases.
Hands-on experience with Flask or Django for building RESTful web services.
Experience with data processing using Pandas and other Python libraries.
Proficient in version control systems such as Git.
Good understanding of REST API architecture and JSON data structures.
Experience with CI/CD tools and deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) is a plus.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in agile teams.
