Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for passionate and experienced Sr. Quality Engineers to join our Returnship Program focused on Python-based Automation using ROBOT and PyTest frameworks. This hybrid opportunity empowers professionals returning to work after a break to re-engage with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain automated test cases using Python-based testing frameworks (ROBOT, PyTest).
Create comprehensive test plans and test strategies based on product specifications and business requirements.
Collaborate with development and QA teams to implement robust test automation pipelines.
Execute both automated and manual testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and regression tests.
Review and maintain test cases regularly to adapt to new features and product changes.
Participate in root cause analysis and defect triaging to drive resolution with engineering teams.
Integrate automation into CI/CD workflows for seamless deployment and release cycles.
Provide detailed documentation of test execution, results, bugs, and improvement recommendations.
Maintain and optimize test environments to ensure seamless testing performance.
Stay up to date with the latest tools, trends, and best practices in QA automation and test engineering.
Engage in active communication with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to drive product quality.
Support and guide junior QA team members with automation implementation.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Strong hands-on experience in Python with exposure to ROBOT Framework and/or PyTest.
Sound understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices.
Familiarity with Selenium WebDriver, REST API testing, and browser automation.
Proficiency in writing custom Python libraries for automation reuse.
Experience working in CI/CD environments using tools like Jenkins, Git, or similar.
Exposure to test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication to collaborate across teams.
Experience with version control tools such as Git.
Prior experience or training in manual testing is a plus.
Background in program management is an added advantage.
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and manage time effectively.
