Role Overview
Finastra is looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of software solutions that meet customer expectations. The engineer will be responsible for creating, executing, and automating test cases based on functional and technical specifications. You will serve as a key quality advocate throughout the software development lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop manual and automated test cases based on functional and technical specifications.
Ensure full test coverage aligned with client requirements.
Conduct stakeholder reviews of test strategies and plans.
Create data setups for customer-specific test environments.
Validate user setups from an end-user perspective.
Conduct regression testing for each release and pre-delivery.
Report release status and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
Analyze, qualify, and document customer-reported defects.
Re-test resolved defects to ensure quality and avoid regression issues.
Collaborate in walkthroughs and documentation reviews across teams.
Participate in retrospectives to identify and implement process improvements.
Support client implementations on-site and off-site.
Work in teams to determine test objectives, execute plans, and improve test coverage.
Technical Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
3–4 years of experience in software testing.
Proficiency in Java programming.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies and best practices.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Soap UI).
Familiarity with SQL, Oracle DB, and MongoDB.
Experience working with payment systems or banking domains (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.
Strong multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to collaborate within dynamic teams.
Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
