Job Description
Embark on a hands-on journey to ensure food safety and quality as a Quality Analyst Intern in a dynamic food manufacturing environment. This role offers an immersive experience in quality control processes and regulatory compliance in the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Testing & Inspection
- Perform routine tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct sensory evaluations for consistency in taste, texture, and appearance.
Quality Control Documentation
- Assist in documenting test results, inspection records, and compliance reports.
- Maintain accurate records of product traceability and quality checklists.
Regulatory Compliance
- Support adherence to food safety standards and government regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA).
- Assist with HACCP and GMP system implementations.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze product quality data and generate reports for quality managers.
- Investigate deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Audit Assistance
- Participate in internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems like ISO 9001 or FSSC 22000.
- Prepare documentation for external audits.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
- Help investigate quality issues and propose corrective measures.
- Collaborate with production teams to address root causes.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with cross-functional teams (production, R&D, supply chain) to uphold quality standards.
- Contribute to projects aimed at process efficiency and cost reduction.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Pursuing or recently graduated in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related fields.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO) and quality control methods.
- Basic familiarity with lab equipment like pH meters and moisture analyzers.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Passion for ensuring food quality and safety.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to the production floor within a manufacturing facility.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred)
Experience: Total work experience of 1 year (Preferred)
