Role Overview:

We are looking for an Analytics Specialist to join our central analytics team. This position will offer you an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse group of professionals. As an Analytics Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in solving complex business problems using data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, and experimentation. You will have the chance to work closely with product teams, drive insights, and contribute to the entire product lifecycle at Razorpay.


Responsibilities:

  • Data-Driven Problem Solving:
    Work with large, complex datasets to solve high-impact business problems using techniques such as data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning.

  • Business & Product Understanding:
    Develop a deep understanding of Razorpay’s business and products. Conduct analyses to derive insights, form hypotheses, and validate findings with robust methodologies.

  • Independent Problem Formulation:
    Use problem-solving skills to deconstruct and formulate solutions from first principles, incorporating both external best practices and cutting-edge approaches.

  • Product Lifecycle Collaboration:
    Be actively involved in the product lifecycle, including ideation, reviewing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), defining success criteria, and assessing product impact.

  • Automation & Insight Generation:
    Expedite root cause analysis and insight generation for recurring use cases through automation or self-serve platforms, helping speed up decision-making.

  • Business Insights & Storytelling:
    Develop compelling data-driven stories that align with Razorpay’s strategic goals, and communicate these insights clearly to stakeholders.

  • Collaboration with Teams:
    Work with Business, Product, and Data Engineering teams to ensure data accuracy and quality. Provide feedback on instrumentation and help improve the completeness of data collection.


Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.

  • Experience:
    1-3 years of hands-on experience in analytics and data science.

  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.

  • Data Visualization:
    Ability to define business and product metrics, work with engineering on data instrumentation, and create self-serve dashboards using tools like Tableau, Qlikview, or Looker.

  • Data Analysis Techniques:
    Experience in Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Cohort Analysis, Funnel Analysis, and transforming data into actionable insights.

  • Data Handling Experience:
    Ability to work with large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data and to apply data cleaning, preprocessing, and dimensionality reduction techniques.

  • Additional Knowledge:
    Experience with A/B Testing, Significance Testing, Supervised & Unsupervised Machine Learning, and Web Analytics is a plus.

  • Preferred Experience:
    Experience working in consumer-tech organizations.

  • Analytical Mindset:
    Ability to understand both qualitative and quantitative aspects of products or strategic initiatives and leverage these insights to identify gaps and opportunities.
