Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Rust Support SME with a strong foundation in debugging and analyzing cloud-based applications written in Rust, specifically on AWS. This role requires a deep understanding of both support and development practices, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead discussions with customers.
Responsibilities
Provide expert-level support and development for applications and integrations developed using Rust, especially within AWS environments.
Utilize advanced debugging and analytical skills to investigate issues in Rust-based systems and integrations.
Engage in customer-facing discussions, leading conversations related to technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancement opportunities.
Participate in support processes including incident resolution, problem management, and change implementations in production environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of fixes, improvements, and upgrades.
Apply knowledge of the retail domain, particularly related to foundational data such as items, pricing, and inventory, to enhance business outcomes.
Contribute to root cause analysis and post-incident reviews to improve system resilience and performance.
Maintain and update support documentation and troubleshooting guides to streamline support activities.
Provide guidance on best practices and standards for Rust development and support processes.
Leverage experience in secondary technologies (React.js, .NET Core, Python) when required to support integrated systems or cross-technology debugging.
Qualifications
Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in support or development roles involving the Rust programming language.
Proficient in debugging Rust applications deployed on AWS cloud infrastructure.
Strong communication skills with the ability to handle technical discussions with clients independently.
Understanding of IT support workflows including incident management, problem analysis, and change control.
Exposure to the retail domain, especially data around pricing, inventory, and item management, is a plus.
Familiarity with modern technologies like React.js, .NET Core, and Python is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid work environment with global teams.
A proactive attitude toward learning, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
