Dell Technologies is seeking a Software Senior Principal Engineer to join the CTO Storage Team. This role will focus on architecting data path technologies across Dell’s advanced storage portfolio, especially in the context of AI infrastructure and GenAI workloads. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to shape and validate next-gen storage innovations.
Develop and define storage architecture strategies for data path technologies aligned with Dell’s product goals.
Drive research and innovation across AI infrastructure, workload orchestration, MLOps platforms, and GenAI applications.
Lead end-to-end architecture from concept through design, performance analysis, and validation.
Develop proof-of-concepts (POCs), minimum viable products (MVPs), and integration plans in collaboration with partners and internal teams.
Evaluate hardware/software trade-offs for storage performance and scalability.
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and translate insights into strategic product enhancements.
Minimum 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years with a PhD.
Deep expertise in Filesystem DataPath, Object Protocols, Linux Kernel, and Storage/Networking drivers and standards.
Strong understanding of drive technologies, CPU/PCI architecture, DPUs, offload engines, and the unstructured/structured data ecosystem.
Proficiency in embedded C and Python development in Linux environments.
Practical knowledge of telemetry systems, AI-based operations, and data transformation protocols.
Experience contributing to the open-source Linux community, particularly SPDK (Storage Performance Development Kit).
Advanced certifications or published research in Storage, AI, or Deep Learning.
Proven leadership on high-impact innovation projects in storage software or AI-centric platforms.
