Role Overview

Finastra is looking for a Senior Functional Quality Engineer who will ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions for global financial institutions. You will work alongside Business Analysts and Developers to define, implement, and execute test strategies that guarantee functionality and user satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement test strategies based on business and functional requirements.

  2. Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and Customer Support to validate solutions.

  3. Perform different types of testing including functional, regression, automation, performance, and documentation reviews.

  4. Document and report software issues; assist development teams in debugging and validation.

  5. Provide ongoing feedback on software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

  6. Support production-level software usage from a QA perspective.

  7. Act as a quality advocate across development, testing, deployment, and implementation phases.

  8. Contribute to knowledge sharing and support onboarding of new QA team members.

  9. Leverage creativity and experience to enhance software and process quality.


Required Experience and Skills

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in software QA in a workflow-driven or enterprise environment.

  2. Strong exposure to financial or banking software applications.

  3. Proven track record of planning and monitoring QA activities and project risk management.

  4. Ability to understand complex business logic and translate it into testable scenarios.

  5. Demonstrated analytical, detail-oriented, and organizational abilities.

  6. Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  7. Basic technical understanding in areas like messaging systems, databases, or UI frameworks.

  8. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Capital Markets, or Computer Science.

  9. Intermediate to advanced financial domain knowledge, particularly in banking or capital markets.

  10. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
