About the Role
Salesforce is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager with deep technical, industry, and leadership experience. You’ll lead development teams, deliver scalable solutions, and support customer success through cloud strategy alignment and strong team dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.
Make critical decisions that directly impact the success of the product.
Anticipate issues proactively and resolve them before they affect deliverables.
Manage daily stand-ups as the Scrum Master for engineering teams.
Align with Product Owners on objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risks.
Ensure clear priorities and adequate resources for teams.
Empower delivery teams for self-coordination and ownership.
Act as a multiplier to elevate team performance and motivation.
Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
Maintain high morale and inspire the team to exceed expectations.
Advocate for technical excellence and guide good engineering decisions.
Participate in architecture discussions and roadmap planning.
Engage in cross-functional coordination and review meetings.
Uphold a strong engineering culture by hiring top talent.
Occasionally contribute to development and testing tasks to understand products better and sharpen technical skills.
Minimum Requirements
A related technical degree is required.
Minimum 15 years of software engineering experience.
3–5 years of experience in leading sizeable engineering teams.
Experience in building large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexibly and proactively, even with limited specifications.
Experience in short release cycles and full software lifecycle.
Proven hiring and mentoring expertise.
Familiarity with software engineering best practices (coding standards, CI/CD, testing, operations).
Solid experience with Agile methodologies; Scrum Master certification/experience is required.
Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and product managers.
Preferred Requirements
Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities.
Understanding of enterprise architecture and governance.
Ability to explain technical and business concepts clearly.
Experience as a trusted advisor focused on customer success.
Degree or equivalent relevant experience (including military, volunteer, or leadership roles).
