About the Role
PayU is hiring a visionary Senior Product Manager – Generative AI to spearhead its AI-first strategy across its digital payments ecosystem. In this high-impact role, you will define and launch AI-driven products that enhance fraud detection, customer support, user experience, and personalization using Large Language Models (LLMs) and transformers.
Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the product roadmap for generative AI use cases across PayU’s ecosystem (fraud detection, personalization, automation, etc.).
Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to launch impactful AI features.
Identify user pain points and convert them into AI-first, scalable product experiences.
Evaluate and integrate third-party LLM platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex AI) ensuring compliance and security.
Analyze user data and model performance to optimize AI interactions and deliver value.
Ensure all AI initiatives adhere to regulatory and compliance standards including RBI and GDPR.
Conduct experimentation and A/B testing for prompt effectiveness and LLM responses.
Act as the voice of the AI user, balancing innovation with practicality and legal standards.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of product management experience, with at least 1 year focused on AI or ML products.
Deep understanding of Generative AI models, including LLMs, transformers, embeddings, and prompt workflows.
Proven success in shipping B2B or B2C AI-powered products at scale.
Strong knowledge of data privacy and financial compliance standards.
Excellent skills in stakeholder management, product storytelling, and decision-making.
Ability to thrive in a cross-functional and agile team setup with tight deadlines.
Nice to Have
Experience in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or training LLMs.
Technical background in machine learning, NLP, or data engineering.
Domain experience in fintech, payments, fraud analytics, or transaction intelligence.
Familiarity with AI safety, bias mitigation, and explainability tools.
