Role Overview
Mastercard is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help ensure code quality, automation strategy, and performance standards for scalable, secure software platforms. This role will collaborate closely with developers, testers, and automation engineers to drive high-quality test coverage across applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze code quality and review reports to enforce development best practices.
Drive automation strategy with a focus on code coverage and test depth (API vs UI).
Partner with development teams to ensure quality in build, configuration, and early performance validation.
Design, implement, and maintain test plans and automated test scripts.
Participate in code walkthroughs, test case reviews, and planning activities.
Develop and execute functional, integration, and regression test suites.
Propose and implement process improvements and lightweight automation solutions.
Support junior team members with technical guidance and mentoring.
Evaluate manual testing tools for automation suitability and scalability.
Assist in identifying and preparing test environments and data sets.
Required Experience
5+ years of experience in software testing, automation frameworks, and test strategies.
Proficient in modern programming and scripting languages (Java, Python, etc.).
Hands-on experience with tools for test automation (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber).
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
Exposure to performance testing, BDD, and configuration management.
Strong communication and documentation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Ability to drive quality culture and contribute to product improvement.
Experience with project-level planning, reporting, and tooling.
Understanding of test environments, virtual data tools, and metrics-based QA.
Exposure to project coordination and stakeholder engagement is a plus.
