Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer – Backend (Java) with strong experience in software development, data engineering, and system integration. You will be responsible for contributing to end-to-end solution design and development within our Connectivity Aftermarket data engineering program.
Project Scope:
Support data engineering and ETL processes involving migration from Alteryx to a modern technology stack.
Assist in use case migrations from non-Helios to Helios-based systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to system design, backend development, code reviews, and deployment processes.
Work closely with business analysts to gather and refine feature requirements and assess potential business impacts.
Develop complex backend solutions with minimal supervision and ensure adherence to best practices.
Prepare detailed technical design documentation based on functional requirements.
Lead development and integration testing of new features in an agile environment.
Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and participate in architecture discussions.
Ensure consistent code quality, team velocity, and effective delivery timelines.
Collaborate with support teams to resolve critical production issues for newly released features.
Mentor junior engineers and assist in overall technical direction and growth of the team.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 6 years of experience in backend development using Java (4+ years with Master's degree).
Proven experience designing, building, and integrating REST and SOAP APIs.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake.
Solid command of SQL and experience in database design and optimization.
At least 3 years of experience with cloud database services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong understanding of software development best practices, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
