Role Overview
Mastercard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Open Banking Platform Engineering team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong DevOps expertise and a passion for building modern cloud-based platforms. You will help drive innovation in developer experience, automate infrastructure processes, and ensure secure, scalable service delivery within Mastercard’s global ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to prioritize engineering tasks.
Estimate and deliver full lifecycle activities including design, development, testing, deployment, configuration, and documentation.
Automate build and operational processes to enhance DevOps practices.
Lead code, design, and process trade-off discussions within the team.
Monitor and report delivery status while managing risks.
Integrate services with a focus on user journey and customer experience.
Perform demos and acceptance walkthroughs with product owners.
Improve operational performance and development experience within your ownership area.
Develop a deep understanding of technical architecture and system dependencies.
Promote adoption of technology standards and review code, tests, and automation scripts of other team members.
Required Experience
6+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
Advanced expertise in automation, scripting, and DevOps tooling.
Intermediate experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
Proficient in container-based deployments and Kubernetes environments.
Hands-on experience in working with large, distributed, global teams.
Skilled in secure coding practices across at least three programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, C++, C#).
Knowledge of secure coding standards including OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT.
Ability to design and implement interoperable code across Windows and Linux systems.
Proficient in Gitflow, peer review processes, and version control practices.
Experience in end-to-end system design, global-focused architecture, and performance optimization.
Preferred Skills
