Meet the Team
The team is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the Cisco NFVIS (Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure Software) product based on Linux KVM technologies.
NFVIS enables customers to manage lifecycles of both Cisco and third-party virtual machines and containers.
It supports Cisco’s custom hardware platforms including ENCS, c8200-ucpe, c8300-ucpe, and general compute hardware like UCS-C series.
NFVIS can be provisioned using Cisco SD-WAN orchestrator or through its built-in NFVIS GUI.
The team has full ownership of CI/CD pipelines, feature automation, and image release management with security controls.
It actively engages with high-profile customer accounts to ensure effective adoption of features.
The team collaborates with other Cisco business units such as SDWAN, Thousand Eyes, Security and Trust, Compute, and Collaboration.
Your Impact
As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will validate new features and ensure the software quality throughout the development lifecycle.
You will work closely with developers during the design and development phases.
You will build automation for testing in an agile environment.
You will own your work from test planning through final release.
You will contribute to scalable and elegant solutions that directly impact customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong experience with Linux systems, including knowledge of Kernel and virtualization technologies such as qemu, libvirt, and kvm.
Deep understanding of networking concepts and protocols including DHCP, Bridges, and VLAN.
Hands-on experience with APIs, JSON, and REST/RESTCONF.
Expert-level skills in Python for automation related to networking and containerization using tools like Docker or Podman.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with at least 10 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to lead test planning activities and validate new features.
Experience mentoring and coordinating other test engineers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git.
Capable of creating, executing, and documenting detailed system-level and integration test plans.
Ability to provide time estimates and project schedules.
Background in build processes, automation scripting, and Python development.
