Job Summary:
As a member of the Opportunity to Cash (OTC) IT Team, the Senior Web Application Developer will collaborate with business Product Owners, Trane Field Sales Organization, IT Product Analysts, and functional teams to analyze, define, and implement applications that drive transformation for our users.
You will contribute to WorkSight, which offers selling tools, product selection tools, data maintenance tools, and project management tools for Trane Commercial HVAC Americas SBU. Our tools are evolving into a modern web-based platform tailored for our mobile sales force and Trane customers. In this role, you will provide IT leadership in delivering new user tools.
Core Responsibilities:
- Partner with business users to understand processes and requirements, translating them into application solutions that enhance efficiencies and customer experience.
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned systems.
- Provide enhancements, maintenance, and support for applications, ensuring security and accessibility.
- Ensure timely, budget-friendly, and specification-compliant delivery of software solutions.
- Contribute to solution design and participate in code reviews to uphold development best practices.
- Collaborate with geographically distributed team members, users, and customers.
- Work independently and mentor new developers.
- Manage risks during program implementation and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee projects through all phases of project management methodologies, including Agile.
- Collaborate with business users to evaluate, select, and implement vendor software.
- Interface with external vendor support services as necessary.
- Define system scope and objectives through research and analysis of business systems and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with business users at all organizational levels.
- Provide second-level support and technical expertise to help desk personnel.
- Limited travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in web development and object-oriented programming (C#/.NET preferred).
- Proficiency in writing unit tests and creating robust, maintainable code, adhering to industry best practices.
- Experience in Agile methodology and remote team collaboration.
- Database and SQL experience, preferably with Oracle.
- Proficient in HTML, TypeScript, web services, JSON, and XML.
- Familiarity with JavaScript, SQL, and MongoDB is a plus.
- Understanding of the software development and deployment process, including CI/CD.

This role will involve working within Agile teams, utilizing C#/.NET, with code developed, tested, and deployed to AWS.
